Everything's Coming Up Roses
This summer has been brutal for gardeners (and yes, farmers of course). We lost all our potted plants during the drought. Recent rains have refreshed my beautiful lawn but wow, the combination of sun and rain the past few weeks has rejuvenated my roses and my garden is a riot of color right now.
Mom and Dad gave me three rose bushes for Mother's Day, so when they were blooming so spectacularly yesterday, I took the time to snap some pictures to send to them. One is called Romance Red. Must confess, red is my least favorite rose but THIS red, is...well, indescribably beautiful. I have tried to take pictures of them in bud, in vases, and now the whole bush...but this red is so vibrant it's practically neon.
My rose garden has been so prolific I have been able to bring our station's Sales Assistant Cheri a bouquet every week. It's kind of a double bonus: I get to share and she displays my flowers in the radio station's lobby.
Just thought I'd share my "neon red" rose bush in full bloom. How does YOUR garden grow? ;-)
