One of my favorite online spots is www.pinterest.com. Talk about creative people and the free flow of ideas, it's terrific if you have an event coming up and want some ideas for how to carry it out that are ingenious. I think everyone on Pinterest uses it differently. The idea is, you see something you like, you can "PIN IT" to your own "board" or page.
I started out that way and decided I'd rather use the site as my personal journal, in pictures. We're refinishing an oak ice box, the pictures of the project in progress are on my site.
Part of our homemade gift is going to be a small pottery Santa, made by me. All of my clay activity is on my Pinterest board CLAY MATTERS! It helps me keep track of the ones I've made and the ones I've yet to do. I study the pictures of them to decide if they are worthy of gift-giving. Pinterest helps me keep track.
On Pinterest, I also record our home improvement projects and share my flowers. I show you how to make a cloth diaper "baby" so you can bring the coolest gift ever to the baby shower. I've been making them for years and trust me, they're worth every minute and penny to create. When I recently cleaned some vintage hardware and we put them on the bedroom doors, I had to take pictures, they are so beautiful. Who knew door hardware could be so exciting? I have also dabbled in jewelry making projects, and those are chronicled on my site, too.
If you have never seen Pinterest, you should check it out. And I would love to share my boards with you:
