On this day in 2011, Blake Shelton – who was on tour with Brad Paisley – shared, "we cut a song together and i come out and perform it with him every night. I try to make him as uncomfortable as I possibly can. I try to kiss him and put my fingers up his nose while he's trying to play a guitar solo."

Today in 2003, Trace Adkins was invited to become a member of The Grand Ole Opry by Little Jimmy Dickens who stood on a ladder in order to look Trace In the eye.

George Strait's "I Just Wanna Dance With You" started a three - week stay at the top of the charts today back in 1998.

And on this day in 1983, John Anderson's single "Swingin'" was certified gold for 500,000 copies sold.

"Swingin'" co-written and recorded by John Anderson. Released in 1983, it was included on his album Wild & Blue. The song was the second of five Number One singles in Anderson's career, spending one week at the top of the Hot Country Songs charts. It also received a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America, and received a Single of the Year award from the Country Music Association. Anderson re-recorded the song for his 1994 album Country 'til I Die on BNA Records.  This re-recording served as the b-side to the album's title track, which was also the first single from it. In addition to LeAnn Rimes, Chris Young performed an acoustic cover of "Swingin'" for his 2010 EP Voices.

John David Anderson (born December 13, 1954, in Orlando, Florida).  Johns career that has lasted more than 30 years. Starting in 1977 with the release of his first single, "I've Got a Feelin' (Somebody's Been Stealin')", Anderson has charted more than 40 singles on the Billboard country music charts, including five Number Ones: "Wild and Blue", "Swingin'", "Black Sheep", "Straight Tequila Night", and "Money in the Bank". He has also recorded twenty-two studio albums on several labels. His newest album, Bigger Hands, was released on June 2009, on the Country Crossing label.
