George Jones, fittingly, is going out in style. When funeral services for the legendary country singer are held on Thursday, May 2, at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, a former first lady, a current governor and a host of music luminaries will all be in attendance.
It was announced Tuesday evening that Laura Bush, wife of former president George W. Bush, will be among those eulogizing George. Joining her are Tennessee governor Bill Haslam, news personality Bob Schieffer, and country superstars Barbara Mandrell and Kenny Chesney.
Artists as varied as Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Ronnie Milsap, Vince Gill, Charlie Daniels, Randy Travis and Brad Paisley will provide musical tributes to George.
