The West Terre Haute Little League and the West Terre Haute V.F.W. post 6575 will be hosting a golf scramble on May 10th at the Forrest Park golf course in Brazil. Shotgun starts @ 8:30am.
$40 will put you on a team of various skill levels, and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, longest drive, longest putt, and closest to the pin.
Don't want to play? Sponsor a hole for $100, or buy your buddy that's never played before a handful of mulligans for $5 a piece.
Lunch will be provided at the golf course.

The Indiana State University Flight Academy will be hosting a Fly-In / Drive-In on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Terre Haute International Airport. The event will go from 11 AM - 3 PM. We will be collecting donations for the Indiana State University’s Air Race Classic Team and NIFA (National Intercollegiate Flying Association) Flight Team. Those that donate will be served food from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM. Hoosier Aviation will be providing city rides for $20. 16th Earth Day Celebration

16th Earth Day Celebration scheduled!

The longest running and largest Earth Day celebration in West Central Indiana has been scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, located 10 minutes northwest of downtown Terre Haute, Ind.

The celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and is hosted by White Violet Center for Eco-Justice, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence.

River’s Journey Native American Healing Drum and Flute Circle will perform as will Solly Burton and Brent McPike on mandolin and guitar respectively.

In addition, a Silly Safaris presentation will take place as well as a presentation by Take Flight! Wildlife Education. The Vigo County Public Library will also provide a children’s book giveaway, and the Sisters of Providence will offer a bake sale.

Food will also be offered by local vendors.

Bloomington Chamber Singers

United Hebrew Congregation of Terre Haute hosts Bloomington Chamber Singers, in collaboration with CANDLES Holocaust Museum, for a presentation of James Whitbourn: Annelies (2009), a choral setting of The Diary of Anne Frank. The concert, on Sunday, April 27 at 4:00 PM, marks the beginning of National Holocaust remembrance week. The performance will take place at United Hebrew Congregation, 540 South Sixth Street, Terre Haute. Gerald Sousa, now in his 25th year as Artistic Director of the Chamber Singers, will conduct the choral ensemble, soprano soloist, and instrumentalists. This performance is free and open to the public.

There will be vendors set up in the Amax building. There will be a shot clinic put on by For Paws Sake Canine Rescue (ALL VACINES $10.00 INCLUDING RABIES.) We will have a photo booth set up so you can get your photo taken with your four legged friend. Part of the registration fee goes to For Paws Sake Canine Rescue. The Dog Club will be there at the end of the race with lunch. They will have hot dogs, hamburgers, and brats along with chips and a drink for sale.

Come join Girl Scout Troop 3736 May 23 for a night of fun, food, and dancing! Each girl should wear their best dress and will recieve a tiara, beauty tips, hair do.
